Time changes everything…
Hollyoaks has revealed exciting details about what the show’s first time jump episode will look like.
The soap is currently airing an explosive stunt week, which will see the biggest storylines collide and life in the village change forever.
After this dramatic run of episodes, next week Hollyoaks will jump forward a year in time, and viewers will see four seasons pass outside The Dog in the Pond at the beginning of Monday’s instalment (September 16).
Landlord Tony surveys his pub and looks at family photos on the wall while his own clan gets ready for school. Did all of his loved ones survive the fateful motorbike crash a year previous?
Tony then takes a walk through the village and, as he passes other residents and interacts with them, viewers get some clues as to where all the characters are at now.
At Casa McQueen, there is set to be a party that evening, and the family are busy preparing the restaurant for the event.
There are snapshots of the residents going about their daily life, but for some, the day is going to be difficult – it’s the anniversary of those devastating events.
Not all of the villagers are still around, and Tony picks up some flowers from Sienna to lay on a grave. He isn’t the only one paying their respects, as the Osbornes and the Lomaxes are also at the graveyard.
There are some happy developments too, as some people have moved on, and one couple are celebrating their engagement – who is love in the air for?
Meanwhile, Mercedes is struggling with the events of the last 12 months, but she is determined to push through – as a single mum of twins with a business to run.
Tony arrives at the hospital, and he looks weary while he watches the doctors tend to a patient, as there is still no update. But later, there is a gasp of relief when a familiar face is finally brought round. Who has been in the hospital all this time?
Returning to Casa McQueen, Tony raises a toast and acknowledges that while it has been a tough year, he thinks they have managed to weather the storm.
Tony’s speech brings about more good news, when another couple decide to take a big step forward in their relationship.
It is a very big day for another resident as they go into labour, with the Lomaxes racing to the hospital to be with her.
Who is about to become a mother? We will have to wait and see…
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
