Ste escalates his search for his husband.
Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks has confirmed dramatic hostage scenes for Ste Hay and Rex Gallagher next week, as Ste’s theories about James Nightingale continue.
Ste’s husband James died instantly in the car explosion which took place just before the show’s time jump, and which left Ste in a coma for a year.
But as Ste tries to recover and adjust to his new life, he has become convinced that James is still alive and that he is being lied to by those around him.
He believes that Rex is holding his late husband captive, after overhearing some mysterious phone calls and finding one of James’ ties on the Love Boat. Ste is therefore determined to keep Rex close, in a bid to find out where James is being held.
Ste found some notes that he thinks were written to him from James, wherever he might be, but viewers soon realised that the notes were blank and Ste’s theories about James might all be in his head.
In this week’s episodes, Ste overhears Rex and Misbah talking about someone being in her house, and he assumes that they are talking about James.
Now in scenes that will air next week, Ste spots Rex and Robbie arguing at the garage. While it is likely that the pair are talking about the stolen car that Rex gave to missing Darren, Ste gets the wrong end of the stick and thinks that Rex has killed James.
Dillon warns his ex, Lucas, that Ste terrified Misbah the previous week in his attempts to find James and explains that he is furious with him.
Later, Ste flees the Lomaxes and tells Freddie that he has seen Robbie taking Rex away in a van.
He is confused about the situation, so takes drastic action and takes Rex into Dee Valley Law. Ste locks him in and demands answers about why he killed James.
Lucas manages to get inside the building and begs his dad to come out, while Peri waits outside, distraught at what is happening.
Will the hostage situation be resolved, and will Rex be okay?
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
