“I am skating straight back home.”
Hollyoaks’ Chelsee Healey has confirmed that she’ll be returning to soapland, following her upcoming stint on Dancing on Ice.
The actor, who plays Goldie McQueen, temporarily exited the show in January to accommodate her maternity leave. Goldie then made a brief reappearance in June for her son Hunter’s funeral wake, but is yet to return to Hollyoaks after the recent time jump.
Though the star was recently announced as a contestant on next year’s Dancing on Ice, Hollyoaks has reassured fans of Goldie’s return in a behind-the-scenes Instagram video.
“You may have seen our wonderful @chelseehealey is going to be on #DancingOnIce! ⛸️ But you heard it here first… Goldie WILL be back in the #Hollyoaks village! Good luck, Chelsee!” read the caption.
The video saw Healey on the Casa McQueen set, confirming her upcoming return to the soap.
“I know that I’m doing Dancing on Ice at the minute and I’m fully focusing on that, so I’m getting my skates on,” she began. “But I am skating straight back home after Dancing on Ice and coming back to Hollyoaks.”
Fans were delighted to hear the news and flooded the comment section with well wishes for the competition. “Good news! I miss Goldie and can’t wait to see the McQueen reunion,” wrote one.
“Yay I can’t wait for Goldie’s return and good luck on dancing On Ice I’ll be routing for you,” said another, while a third echoed: “cannot wait for Goldie’s return”.
Speaking about joining the 2025 Dancing on Ice line-up, Healey said: “I’m ready, I’m good to go. Let’s go! I’ve got a bit of rhythm, but skating on ice is completely different. I’m excited.”
She added: “I’m most excited for the live shows. Getting to perform live every week will give me a buzz. I can’t wait for the live shows.”
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
