Coronation Street legend Helen Flanagan has confirmed that she’d “love” to return to Weatherfield as Rosie Webster and revealed her dream comeback storyline live on Loose Women
Helen Flanagan has revealed that she’d “love” to return to Coronation Street as Rosie Webster on one condition.
The soap siren made her debut on the cobbles back in 2000, aged just nine, and she quickly became a fan favourite. Over the years, viewers watched her grow up on the long-running programme as Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Kevin’s (Michael Le Vellkk) rebellious daughter.
Helen also played a big part in several memorable storylines – from affairs to fall-outs, her time in Weatherfield was not short of drama. But in 2012, actress Helen decided to leave the soap to pursue other acting opportunities. She also had a rather memorable stint on I’m A Celebrity that same year.
After making a brief reappearance in 2017, Helen left again in 2018 to go back on maternity leave to have her daughter Delilah. And she has not been seen since. On Thursday (August 15), Helen appeared on Loose Women – where she was reunited with her on-screen mum Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Metcalfe in Corrie.
Helen – who now is a mum to Matilda, seven, Delilah, five, and Charlie, two – was soon quizzed about whether she would head back to the soap – and it turns out she would, but on one condition. “I would love Rosie to go back especially if she was mum so she could dump the kids on Sally. I think that would be really fun, to come back and cause some chaos,” she shared.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Star last year, Helen revealed last year that she would “love” to return to the show. She gushed: “I’d love to go back to Corrie, I really, really would, but it has to be when the time’s right because my little boy’s only young, he’s just turned one.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
