Furious Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has slammed a fake advert for diet pills using her name and pictures.
The actress, who plays Mandy Dingle on the ITV soap, warned fans not to believe the advert, which she says she received many messages about this week.
Alerting people to the ad, which claimed she had launched a ‘no-gym pill’, Lisa shared a screenshot on social media.
It featured two pictures of her and suggested the pills had helped her lose weight – something Lisa was quick to set the record straight about.
‘FAKE FAKE FAKE,’ she wrote in a post on X and Instagram.
‘I’ve had so many messages this week regarding this post! If they have placed my name with anything it’s FAKE! I’m surprised anyone ever believes anything anymore!!
Lisa urged fans who spotted the ad to ‘please block and report’, adding: ‘‘It’s not true, it’s not me, it’s faker than fake, and keeps being FAKE!!!’
Lisa first rocked up in Emmerdale as the feisty but loveable Mandy in 1995, before leaving the Dales six years later.
She reprised her role in 2019 and has been on our screens ever since.
Last month, the actress paid tribute to her beloved partner Al on his birthday.
Despite being engaged, Lisa revealed she and Al have decided they will not tie the knot, reaching the decision after Al’s mum died last year aged 79.
On his birthday, she penned: ‘To my baby, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. today is your special day, and for the next few days, we can keep celebrating-LOVE YOU SO MUCH-let’s have a gorgeous time, getting older, yet staying younger. Thank you for always making me smile.’
Recently, Lisa also opened up about her views on adoption after stopping IVF treatment because her eggs ‘weren’t good enough’.
