“I feel really peaceful and fulfilled. I love being a mum.”
Former Home and Away star Sam Frost has opened up about “finding peace” in motherhood.
Last month, Frost, who played Jasmine Delaney on the soap between 2017 and 2022, revealed that she is expecting her second child with Australian Survivor star Jordie Hansen.
Speaking to Stellar Magazine about her son Ted, Frost said: “I feel really peaceful and fulfilled. I love being a mum. I’m a family person and an introvert, so home is my safe space.”
Opening up on her decision to leave the spotlight, Frost said she now spends “quality time” with her sister and nieces, crediting it with helping her mental health.
“I used to tell myself that I was a really anxious person and I would always feel quite anxious, but I haven’t felt anxious for a really long time,” she explained.
She continued: “Living this kind of lifestyle of being with my family and having a safe space and travelling around places where you don’t have phone reception so you’re not on social media has completely transformed my life.
“I now have a different relationship with Instagram. I use it as a business tool to promote what I’m doing or to show little titbits of my life, but I don’t scroll on it. It’s not worth disrupting my peace, my mental health and my joy,” she added.
Frost announced her second pregnancy via Instagram, where she shared a photo of her family of three which showcased her baby bump.
“Our family is growing from three to four,” she captioned the post. “It has been a wild ride but we are extremely grateful our little one is healthy and doing okay in there. We are all very excited to meet you, especially your big brother!
“Huge thank you to our family and friends for all their love and support over these past few months. We love you.”
