Coronation Street newcomer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) has caused a stir on the cobbles ever since his arrival in May, and now looks set to break up a popular couple…
The couple in question? Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott)!
The pair only just reconciled at the beginning of the year when he returned to Weatherfield following a short stay in Scotland.
Of course, as we know, they first grew closer when Ryan protected Daisy during a horrific acid attack, and subsequently bonded during their recovery journey.
They then went on to have an affair behind her boyfriend Daniel Osborne’s (Rob Mallard) back.
Now, after all of that trauma, their relationship seems to be on the brink of collapse.
Last month, we saw shifty copper Kit move into the Rovers spare room and instantly flirted with feisty Daisy, who was quick to brush off his advances and remind him that she has a boyfriend.
We then saw him grow closer with Ryan, who was impressed by his vinyl record collection and the two grabbed a pint.
However, it seems as though it was a wider ulterior motive!
The character is still very much a man of mystery, and we don’t know a lot about Kit’s backstory before he turned up on The Street.
‘It’s a weird one, because he’s not really mentioned anything about relationships’ Jacob Roberts told us.
‘The stuff he says to Kirk though, maybe shows that he’s been hurt by a woman. But is it mummy issues? He’s been abandoned by her twice.’
On whether he sees a future with Daisy, he continued: ‘[It’s] fair game. I think if he’s got his eye on someone he’s going to try and make that happen.’
‘He obviously fancies Daisy, so I think he’s going to try his best to see what he can do.’
To make matters worse, Kit clearly has no qualms about hurting his new mate Ryan either: ‘I think he takes people off the first interaction. Ryan was sort of aggressive with Kit straight away and he remembers that.’
‘Also, he’s been telling Kit that he’s not interested in her anymore’ he added.
We also know that he’s signed on the dotted line to move into the swanky Redbank Apartments – the same building that single Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) lives in – and the two have crossed paths before.
Viewers of the ITV soap will remember that earlier this year, he caught her placing fake evidence in Nathan Curtis’ (Christopher Harper) van to incriminate him for the disappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
Ushering her away, he then proceeded with the deed himself.
Could this encounter lead to something else?
‘Maybe there’ll be a knock at the door after going to the Rovers!’ Jacob teased to Metro.co.uk.
Weatherfield women, watch out!
