Emmerdale’s Tom King smirks as he gets the upper hand – and he’s not finished yet

Emmerdale spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (December 3) episode that is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 7:30pm.

Tom King (James Chase) was left grinning in Emmerdale after receiving an unexpected new ally in his mission to secure his freedom.

The abuser was arrested and charged over his treatment of Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) last month before being arrested again for breaching his bail conditions when he attempted to free.

He is now in prison and, having told solicitor Ollie that he intends to plead not guilty, the story is not over yet.

Jimmy (Nick Miles) was left spooked when he received an email asking if Tom could place him on the list of approved visitors.

Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), who received the same email, offered her husband advice and reminded him of who Tom really is, leaving the patriarch determined to cut all contact with his vile nephew.

Angelica (Rebecca Bakes), however, overheard the conversation and retrieved the email from the recycling bin, replying using her own number but under Jimmy’s name.

On Tuesday, Tom was taken aback to receive a call from Angel, who asked him if he really abused Belle. Spying an opportunity to secure a new ally, Tom lied through his teeth, claiming that he’s innocent.

Angelica believed him.

Jimmy and Nicola’s unexpected return home led to the teen cutting off the call but Tom couldn’t help but grin, feeling like things were finally turning in his favour.

Will Jimmy and Nicola realise that Tom has turned his attention to their daughter? Or will Tom get what he wants first before they make the discovery?

Here’s hoping it’s the former so that Belle can finally get justice.

Upcoming scenes will see Angel encourage her dad to read a letter from Tom, but Jimmy isn’t convinced by what Tom has to say.

Undeterred, Angel piles on the emotional blackmail until Jimmy agrees to visit his nephew in prison.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
