Emmerdale’s Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) has been on edge ever since her dad Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) arrived in the village.

In a special episode which aired a few weeks ago, flashbacks allowed viewers to discover why Ruby is so fearful of her father. The scenes then developed, allowing fans to learn Anthony had been sexually abusing teenage Ruby.

Away from this secret, Anthony has done his best to slot himself into the family. He is charming, intrigued by Ruby’s husband Caleb Milligan’s (William Ash) Dingle family and so far, his “nice guy” act has been working.

However, in upcoming scenes, Ruby quietly pursues a DNA test for her daughter Steph Milligan (Georgia Jay), managing to collect a hair sample. She confides in Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter)about her doubts.

Meanwhile, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is troubled by Anthony’s plans to settle in the village because he knows about his affair with Ruby.

Ruby has a close call when Caleb returns home early just as she’s gathering his DNA. Anthony later shares grim news with Caleb about his health, asking him to keep it private.

A spa day brings Ruby and Steph closer, but Ruby remains anxious about her secret. Their relationship hits another snag when Steph finds an old photo from Ruby’s pregnancy, causing tension between the mother and daughter. Anthony encourages Steph to be patient with Ruby, hinting at hidden complexities.

Elsewhere in the village, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is determined to continue with the quest to find his missing teenage daughter April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan). The Woolpack chef is convinced by those close to him to film an appeal video and the clip goes viral.

However, Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) tries to hide Marlon from the vile hate messages that are flooding in. When Marlon learns of them he is left considering deleting the appeal video wishing he’d sorted proper advice before embarking on it.

Eventually, Marlon puts his foot down and decides not to delete the video. He and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) stand united despite the online aggression.
