Natalie J Robb has shared a demand for her character after her own personal loss
Emmerdale star Natalie J Robb has shared a demand for her character after her own personal loss. The actress, who plays Moira Dingle in the ITV soap, said a heartbreaking goodbye to her beloved pet dog, Bronson, back in February and recently announced the arrival of a new four-legged friend.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News and other press, Natalie said: “I had him for thirteen and a half years, it’s a long time so it was awful, and it was just me and him. I got this necklace made of him, it’s got his chest fur inside, aquamarine is my favourite stone and this is a good one to wear near your heart centre. His chest hair is inside there and his ear hair is inside there. I wore it for about two weeks and then I saw this dog.”
She went on to share how she found her new beloved puppy: “I’d had a dream about this beige dog with black eyes and a black nose as an adult. And then after I got this necklace, two weeks later I saw it as a pup and I just went ‘that’s uncanny, that’s weird.’ So I just enquired about it, and the next day they called. So it was meant to be.
“That was three and a half/four months ago I enquired about him and now he’s here, he arrived this morning. I’m already having a lovely time because he loves cuddles. He’s left me a few brown presents, he did that this morning, so I’ve got all the little puppy pads all over the house. It’s just nerves. I love animals.”
The news of her beloved puppy came as Natalie was quizzed on whether she plans to make any New Year’s resolutions this year. “I would say NY resolutions would be just make more time for the people that I really care about, which I’ve actually been doing, I did that last year and I’ve actually been doing that all this year,” she told us.
“This morning, I got a delivery of a six month old puppy that I’ve rescued from Spain, so if I look tired to you, that’s why. He arrived at 3.30 this morning, I got about two hours sleep, his name’s Buddy. If anything, he’s my Xmas present to myself, and just to do lots of lovely things with him.”
Sharing more details, Natalie said: “He’s a Spanish Mastin so he looks like Bambi, he’s really tall and got beautiful black eyeliner, I think, ‘Wow Buddy, how have you done your eyes so perfectly?’ He’s got beautiful eyes and he just looks like a dog on stilts at the moment. He came last night and he was all frightened and within two minutes he was cuddling us. He’s six months so he’s been in kennels since he was born.
“[I’ll be] spending the NY with him. Me and my mum were talking about going away somewhere nice and take Buddy and I thought, ‘Do you know what, we’ll just go for lovely walks.’ We’re at the stage where we’ve got to get him out of the house to make sure he knows he’s not going away somewhere else now, because it was a long journey unfortunately because of Valencia (floods), so they were detoured from that so that was quite an ordeal for them so they missed the ferry yesterday and they had to get a later on, it was a four hour delay, bless them.”
It led to Natalie reacting to the possibility of Moira getting her own dog for the farm. She said: “I know, it would be lovely, I have asked for it, I said it’s weird that I don’t have a dog – or a cat, because farms always have cats. When we film out on the farm, there are lots of cats…”
