Emmerdale’s Moira Dingle confuses Cain as her strange behaviour continues

Cain wants answers.

Last night’s (August 9) episode of Emmerdale saw Moira Dingle confuse her husband Cain as her strange behaviour continues.

Moira has been struggling since her son Matty Barton was wrongfully imprisoned for allegedly stabbing Samson Dingle earlier this year.

Samson later confessed to lying about the attack, which led to Matty being released from prison. Despite Matty returning home, Moira has found it difficult to forgive the Dingle family for not supporting her son.

The soap aired worrying scenes for Moira in last night’s (August 8) hour-long episode. After snapping at Matty earlier in the week, Moira didn’t seem to remember the exchange and quickly apologised for being “cantankerous”.

She was later shown arguing with Cain, before beginning to sleep in the middle of the day and drinking alcohol alone.

Tonight’s episode saw Moira continue to lash out at Cain when she couldn’t find a cattle passport for an upcoming auction.

“It was here the other day. Somebody must’ve moved it!” she said, before Cain admitted: “I had a tidy round earlier. It’ll be here somewhere.”

After asking her husband to move the rest of the herd to the bottom of the field, Moira got frustrated when Cain revealed he’d already cleared the field for the new cattle.

“Oh, right, so basically you’re just going around making extra work for me?” she angrily said, with a confused Cain adding: “I was just trying to help, all right?”

Later, Moira returned home in a more upbeat mood. She explained to Cain that she felt “better” than alright after getting a “great” price for the herd.

“Look at you, cracking on with the boys’ tea,” she said as she began to embrace her husband. “I don’t reckon there’s many blokes as useful and as sexy as you are.”

Cain quickly shared his confusion after Moira previously left the house in a “funny mood”, though Moira couldn’t seem to remember her outburst.

“Well, I’m fine now. Unless, you’d rather have an argument, obviously,” she added, before leaving the room to have a shower.

“Knowing what’s up with you wouldn’t go amiss, though,” said a bewildered Cain after she left.

Will Cain be able to uncover what’s going on with Moira?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
