Emmerdale viewers will see Manpreet Sharma go to meet her mystery blackmailer next week on the ITV soap before confronting a fellow villager, before she makes a discovery

Fans of Emmerdale will see Manpreet Sharma finally confront her blackmailer next week, or so she thinks.

As she heads off to meet the person making a money demand, she bumps into another villager at the meeting place. It’s someone fans have suspected of being behind the cruel campaign against the GP doctor, but are they guilty?

Manpreet ends up accusing them of being her tormentor and they’re left reacting. But in a chilling twist something in the background of the scene soon leaves Manpreet realising she might have the wrong person, and bigger trouble could be ahead.

Just weeks ago we found out Manpreet’s secret and what she was hiding from those in the village. She’d been posting racy yet empowering content online, before signing up to a subscription site.

Someone obtained the images though and began sending threatening and mean messages to Manpreet’s phone. She eventually confided in pal and colleague Ella Forster about it, telling her what had happened and that someone was out to get her.

Just this week we saw Billy Fletcher on her profile, leaving fans wondering if he was behind it. We’ve also seen hints that Tracy Robinson and Ella are to blame, while also suspected by fans is John Sugden.

Next week Manpreet is asked to pay up for their silence, with a meeting place and time given for a drop-off. It’s in the village, and when Manpreet gets there she soon bumps into none other than Joe Tate.

Manpreet is sickened and realises he has to be her blackmailer. For him to show up at the meeting point at the same time leaves her convinced he is the one threatening her, and she soon lets rip.

She calls him out and tells him to take the money and leave her alone. As he claims to have no idea what she is talking about she rages some more, slamming has actions.

But it soon becomes apparent that Joe probably doesn’t know what she’s talking about and isn’t the true blackmailer. He claims he’s there by chance and often visits that location to clear his head, and with that a mystery car drives past with the driver not shown.

Manpreet lets out a slight gasp as she realises that could have been the person harassing her, and perhaps seeing Joe with Manpreet has caused them to flee meaning potentially more trouble for her. As she asks Joe once more if he’s telling the truth, she’s left horrified to realise she’s got the wrong person and the real harasser is out there and out to get her.

The question is, who is it and why are they out to get her? Was it them in the blue car? Viewers will have to tune in next week to see what comes next.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
