Dawn Fletcher actress Olivia Bromley shared a sweet yet cheeky tribute to her co-star as they exited the show over Christmas
Emmerdale star Olivia Bromley has marked the ‘end of an era’ as she shared a sweet yet cheeky tribute to her co-star as they exited the show over Christmas.
Fans of the ITV soap saw Dean Andrews bow out of playing Will Taylor in the Dales on Christmas Day as the character suffered a heart attack without any quick action from his wife Kim Tate.
As Emmerdale viewers knew, Will had been conspiring with her financial advisor Peter to bring Kim down once and for all. It came after, during their recent separation, Kim offered Will £100,000 in their divorce settlement, but he was determined to secure half of everything – including her beloved Home Farm.
They went on to reconcile and had been planning to renew their wedding vows on Christmas Day. But all wasn’t as it seemed with Will continuing to conspire with Peter. Will tried to change their plans after Kim invited his daughter and grandchildren back to live with them after she got Jai Sharma to kick them out of their own home.
While Pete wouldn’t budge, Will brought forward their vow renewal which went ahead with no hiccups – until Joe Tate made a dramatic comeback after a six-year absence, being unveiled as the brains behind financial advisor Pete and Will’s plots against Kim Tate.
However, the drama escalated even further on Christmas Day when, following a dispute with his wife Kim, Will succumbed to a heart attack. Kim didn’t believe the seriousness of the situation at first until Joe returned and told her Will was clearly suffering a heart attack. She then sprung into action but her efforts weren’t enough as medics later pronounced Will dead.
Dean’s on-screen daughter Olivia, who plays Dawn Fletcher in Emmerdale, has since reacted to his exit. Sharing a picture of the pair taken at his real-life wedding earlier this year, she wrote on Instagram: “End of an era @deanoandrews.”
She added alongside the post, which also included a picture of their on-screen clan: “The best soap dad I could have ever asked for. Truly. Thanks for covering up murders, beating up bad boyfriends and letting me live in your mansion rent free. Here’s to the Taylors.”
