Emmerdale legend Claire King has dropped a major hint about the mystery person, thought to be a past character, targeting Kim Tate on the ITV soap ahead of the big reveal
The identity of the mystery person targeting Kim Tate on Emmerdale will soon be revealed, and now there’s possibly been a major clue.
Kim actress Claire King told The Mirror and other press a possible initial for the name of the character, amid theories surrounding who it could be. Currently, Jamie Tate, Joe Tate and Jean Tate are all tipped to be the mystery person pulling the strings, amid Will Taylor and Peter’s plan to bring down Kim.
But something Claire told us may throw this off track, and could hint it’s neither of these former characters. She almost hinted at two letters being the initials of the character, while this could have been a massive red herring. Claire referred to the culprit as “A.N. Other”.
Of course the’s just saying the word “another”, but the way she said A then N then other certainly sparked suspicion. She also made a cryptic look at the press when she said this.
So does this mean the person targeting Kim has the initials A and N? Who could this possibly be? As we say it could be to throw us off the scent, but could it be the biggest hint yet over the person’s identity?

Claire teased: “But [Will is] in cahoots with A.N. Other.” Dean Andrews, who plays Will, teased his character’s turmoil as he tries to cancel his plans to ruin Kim, but it might be too late.
Both characters could face danger this Christmas, as an eerie flashforward shows a struggle has occurred at Home Farm with Kim and Will missing. So will they survive?
Claire teased of her soap fate: “I don’t think we go to the Woolpack New Year’s Eve do. I was too busy on another set – I won’t say which one because it might give something away.”
So this could tease she is in fact alive given she’s “busy” on New Year’s Eve, but then again could she be hinting at a shock demise? Explaining Peter’s reason for destroying Kim, Dean told us: “He wanted to be part of taking Kim down as well for some reason, maybe because she dumped him. He ended up wanting to take her down. That’s why he became an adversary.”
Christmas will see the reveal of who is targeting her and why, with spoilers keeping quiet on the truth. Whether Kim and Will make it to 2025 remains to be seen.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
