A devastated April found out dad Marlon knew how Donna died and kept it from her during Friday’s episode of the ITV hit

A heartbroken April Windsor has been left feeling betrayed as she found out that her family has kept the truth from her about her mum.

Emmerdale viewers will recall that the teen’s mum Donna was terminally ill when took her own life by jumping from a multi-storey car park with dangerous crime lord Gary North handcuffed to her, a decade ago.

Last night things took a turn for the worse when Ross, who made a comeback to the ITV soap earlier this year, discovered that evil Jade had kidnapped April and was holding her hostage on the roof of the same multi-storey car park where Donna died.

Once April was back at safety, there was more heartache as Ross told her what about her mum’s death. As expected, the news came as a huge shock to April, who sobbed as she attempted to process everything.

During tonight’s (December 6) episode of the ITV hit soap, It is clear that April is struggling to cope with the sudden news as her behaviour has been noted as odd and distracted as many ask what is wrong.

Marlon instantly knew something is not adding up but April was not keen on telling him the truth because she was under the impression that he was unaware.

She decided to open up to Arthur and seek some advice on what to do. He could see that bottling it up isn’t making the situation any better so he told her to speak to her dad before her emotions build up.

After the heartfelt moment, April decided it was best to confide in Marlon about what she had been told; however it didn’t go as expected.

In a shock twist Marlon revealed that he already knew the truth and has been keeping it a secret for many years.

April was furious about the news and felt Marlon should have told her sooner. It didn’t take long for the pair to get into a heated argument.

Marlon claimed that he didn’t know when the right time was to tell her but April was quick to say “the day after my birthday is always known as the day she died, why did you not tell me?”

Poor Marlon was left speechless as he tried everything to calm April down, however nothing seemed to work as she stormed out, leaving Marlon sitting on the sofa heartbroken. Is there more trouble ahead for April?
