Emmerdale’s Anthony Fox ‘not actually dead’ after being saved by secret son

Emmerdale viewers think Ruby has a secret brother and he’s already in the village

Emmerdale aired a major update on Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) following his untimely death last month, but fans think there is a huge twist.

During Wednesday’s visit to the village (February 26), Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) highlighted something important about Anthony’s recent murder – he doesn’t know where the dead body is located.

A few weeks ago, Aaron attacked Anthony and when he returned to the depot with John Sugden (Oliva Farnworth), they found the evil man dead. It left Aaron convinced he had killed Anthony, unaware during the period of time he wasn’t at the depot, Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) had entered and killed her abusive father.

Before finding out Anthony’s true cause of death, Aaron and John worked together to try and cover up the murder. As a former member of the army, John told Aaron that he’d find disposing of Anthony’s body a lot easier to process than him.

John later refused to tell Aaron where Anthony’s body was, convinced matters would be made worse if he knew. Once the couple was told about Ruby’s involvement, they agreed, along with Chas (Lucy Pargeter), Cain (Jeff Hordley), and Caleb (William Ash), to keep Anthony’s murder a secret.

On Wednesday night’s episode, Chas and Aaron continued to discuss the possibility of handing themselves in to the police. When the topic of conversation turned to the location of Anthony’s body, Chas was taken aback when Aaron confirmed he didn’t know where it was.

Chas was shocked that John hadn’t said anything about the body, and that suspicion was then absorbed by Aaron. Once he had discovered Aaron’s worries, John hosted a meeting with the group at a secret location.

John said that if one person doesn’t stick to their plan, the entire group will fall apart. Knowing he needs to be trusted more, John then confirms the location of Anthony’s makeshift grave in the woods.

Later, Caleb visited the pub and told his brother that he’d stop with the troublesome behaviour because he knew John’s comments about sticking together were right.

When Chas mentioned Ruby, Caleb told her that while he is worried, she will get through this ordeal if they all continue with their plan. Unbeknownst to Caleb, Ruby was back at the location of her father’s grave.

She broke down in tears, the weight of everything clearly overwhelming her. But some Emmerdale fans are convinced Anthony isn’t buried in the woods or dead.

Eagle-eyed fans are convinced they’ve pieced together a family twist: they believe John could be Ruby’s biological brother and even think that he might have saved Anthony from death rather than bury him.

Taking to Facebook, one fan asked: “is John is Ruby’s brother and John is keeping his dad alive somewhere.”

A second replied: “Brill idea” while a third chimed in: “But is John really John who knows???? Poor Aaron he can’t get a nice partner.”

Another added: “Wow didn’t see that coming if true”, while another echoed: “He (Anthony) could of had an affair.”

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
