Emmerdale viewers fear Amy Barton could cheat on Matty as she sets her sights on a shock villager, after dropping a baby bombshell on her husband
Emmerdale fans are speculating a surprise romance between Amy Barton and an unlikely villager.
Amy, originally portrayed by Chelsea Halfpenny and now Natalie Ann Jamieson, has been a key character in the soap since 2010, involved in numerous significant plots. From an unplanned pregnancy with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) to her recent beautiful wedding to Matty (Ash Palmisciano), Amy’s journey in the Dales has been far from dull. .
This week, she dropped a significant baby revelation on Matty, leading viewers to worry that she might be on the brink of infidelity. Earlier this week, Moira Dingle (Natalie J.
Robb) assisted Tracy Metcalfe’s (Amy Walsh) daughter, Frankie, alongside Amy. However, Amy, already a mother to Kyle with Cain, found herself unexpectedly yearning for another child.
She confided in her mother-in-law Moira about her desire for a baby, leaving Moira equally surprised. Realising she needed to discuss this with Matty, Amy devised a plan, reports Leicestershire Live. She blindfolded Matty and took him to Dale View, where she revealed her request to Kim Tate (Claire King) to rent the house for them.
An enthusiastic Amy then suggested to Matty that they could move in and start a family. However, Matty was taken aback, leaving Amy disheartened. Later, Matty shared his concerns with stepfather Cain.
Emmerdale viewers are on the edge of their seats, grappling with the possibility that Amy and Matty might break up, in what would be a gut-wrenching development in their storyline.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, fans solemnly entertained the idea with comments like “I hope they don’t split Amy and Matty up,” and predictions floating around such as, “They will probably get her to cheat.”
Speculations about who might be the third party include Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), prompting remarks like “Who with though? Joe Tate? ” and agreements with “Yeah was thinking him too.”
Another viewer recalled past surprises from the soap, stating, “I didn’t think Cain would cheat and he did so you’re probably right! ” The whispers among the fan base highlight the show’s ability to keep its audience guessing.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
