Emmerdale spoilers for next week have confirmed the death of Anthony Fox with a murder whodunnit teased, while Joe Tate is also caught out by Dawn Taylor on the ITV soap
There’s a dark turn of events on Emmerdale next week, as Anthony Fox is being killed off.
The abuser is finally exposed to those in the village as Ruby Miligan breaks her silence. But it seems a whodunnit looms, as a number of incidents happen with the villain before he is found dead.
Several suspects are in the frame, and the mystery deepens across the week. There’s also another big moment as the week unfolds, as someone appears to finally work out what’s going on with Joe Tate.
After his recent collapses and him taking some unknown medication, a character finds him in a bad way – so do we finally find out what’s wrong with him? The big week features another flashforward too, as we get a glimpse of a murder before it happens.
Then, after Caleb Milian’s DNA discovery involving daughter Steph in upcoming episodes, the truth about Anthony sexually abusing his daughter Ruby when she was a teenager comes to light. Anthony raped Ruby decades earlier including on her 16th birthday.
It seems things explode between Caleb and his wife as their daughter Steph is surprised to find her mum Ruby back together with Caleb and them both acting as if nothing has happened. Anthony, meanwhile, isn’t in the house.

Anthony continues to tutor teenager Angelica King the next day, only for Chas Dingle, who has seemingly figured out that Anthony is the one who raped Ruby as a teenager, to share some worrying news with Nicola King. Chas lets her know her daughter Angelica is not safe around him, so Nicola speeds home and confronts the character.
As Anthony panics he ends up lashing out at Nicola and attacks her, only for Laurel Thomas to arrive and hit him with a candlestick. Anthony is left unconscious, but have they killed him?
It seems the episodes could run out of order as there’s other incidents that see Anthony in peril, and it’s not clear who is the killer. Cain Dingle finds out Anthony’s grim actions it seems, while Aaron Dingle is left unnerved when he spots a moment between Anthony and Ruby.
Caleb is next to feature in a scene with Anthony, when he orders his father-in-law to get in his car with a plan clearly in mind. At some point across the week a gunshot rings out, and Anthony is soon found dead.
Nicola and Laurel are all left struggling with their guilt in the fallout, while soon a piece of evidence could give away who kills Anthony. It’s revealed one of his teeth lay undiscovered in an undisclosed location while it’s not clear if his death is confirmed to the other villagers.

With Steph wondering what has happened to her missing grandfather, it’s clear he has been dealt his comeuppance but there’s so much more to be revealed. As for the Joe storyline, the soap has still not confirmed whether he is ill amid speculation.
Next week after a kiss with Dawn, things continue between the pair after Joe encourages Kim Tate to give Dawn a full-time job at Home Farm Estates. Dawn is suspicious over it all though, and soon she confronts him.
One thing leads to another though as pair sleep together, with Dawn cheating on her husband Billy Fletcher. Dawn’s left guilty and is keen to tell Billy about her betrayal, while Joe’s attempts to get his brother Noah Dingle back onside lead to more tension with Charity Dingle.
Charity turns up at Home Farm to return the watch Joe has given to Noah, and she orders Joe to keep away from Noah. But things take a worrying turn when Joe is shown struggling to maintain consciousness as he sits in his parked car on a deserted country road.
Dawn soon comes across his car and finds him slumped at the wheel with a bottle of pills on the floor. So what has happened to Joe, and will the truth about his mystery health issue finally come to light?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
