It comes as the beloved character’s symptoms worsen
Emmerdale fans will tune into another night of drama on ITV on Wednesday as Eric Pollard’s symptoms grow worse.
On top of his business and money troubles, Caleb seems to have entered a war with Eric – but the pair call cease fire for one day due to the pensioner’s Parkinson’s disease. On tonight’s episode, Brenda gets a call from Eric to which she presumes is a pocket dial but grows increasingly more concerned when Tracy comes in to tell her that he isn’t at the shop for his shift.
Brenda suggests trying the house since it was the last place she saw him, to which Caleb interrupts and said “sounds like he is causing chaos everywhere and should stay there as it is the best place for him” before leaving as well.
However, the next scene show Eric is in bed, as predicted, but is in a desperate need of Brenda as ‘legs won’t work’ and he is becoming more and more scared. But when she calls him back, he said she had just woke him up and it was a ‘stupid mistake’. He then promises to call Vanessa back when Brenda tells him that she has been in the café looking for him.
He is then spotted by Caleb in his PJs walking up the hill outside his house and offers to drive him to Liam’s house. He talks to Liam about his symptoms and concerns of being helpless to which he tells Eric to take the medicine and not be in stressful situations. He heartbreakingly tells Liam that he doesn’t want to be Jacob’s problem as his condition gets worse. Later Caleb checks on Eric and asks if he is ok and adds a little quip about crashing his van to which Eric tells him his plans of stopping his trucks isn’t over.
Elsewhere in the Dales, Jai arrives keen and ready to work but loses motivation when he discovers that he hasn’t got an office or anything to do. Frustrated and desperate, he once again asks Caleb for the money he put in the offshore account but is refused and persuaded to keep it there during his and Laurel’s divorce proceedings, so she can’t access it.
Now set up in Hop Hawksford Outdoor Pursuits, Jai is warned by Will about Caleb ‘stiffing him’ since he has done the same thing to him and Jimmy before. Kerry overhears, and asks for a job, to which she is quickly shut down by saying that last time they worked together was a ‘nightmare’. However, as normal, Kerry does what she pleases and later arrives at the site claiming that Caleb gave her a job as a cleaner much to Jai’s dismay.
Adding to his disastrous day, Caleb is once again confronted by Jai about the money, who watches Caleb call someone about getting it back by the end of the week. But when he gets called away by Kerry, Jai checks Caleb’s phone and sees that the last person he called was Ruby, hours ago.
Meanwhile, Nicola comes back to her house to see Jimmy who admits that he misses her. She catches him up with everything about Angelica as she tells him what she wrote on an online forum about her time in prison. He later visits her and tells her to talk to him about anything to which Angelica tells him she wants to go home but it turns into an argument when Jimmy refuses to kick Tom out.
Finally, Vinny is still in shock and slightly regrets sending Tina away as he still has some questions about everything. He admits to Victoria that he has found her on social media and plans to visit her at another caravan site. Later after visiting the site, Vinny tells her that he thinks he saw his siblings at a caravan site and wonders if Tina told them about him.
