Emmerdale could be set to welcome back a beloved villager in a huge Bob Hope twist
Emmerdale’s Bob Hope is in for a shock as fans have ‘worked out’ a major return of a Dales favourite.
Bob (Tony Audenshaw) has been a staple on the soap since 2000. And as Emmerdale’s most married character, he’s had his fair share of failed romances over the years.
From marriages to Viv Windsor (Deena Payne) and Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) to a scandalous affair with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), his time in the Dales has not been short of drama.
And last month, the father-of-seven was left single when partner Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) left the village after six years – leaving him heartbroken. As well as being a dad to seven, Bob is also a grandfather to TJ Woods – born in 2003.
TJ is the son of the late Terry (Billy Hartman) and Bob’s daughter Dawn (Julia Mallam) Woods. Sadly, in 2006, Dawn died following an explosion at the King’s River show home.
Fast forward to 2011, and tragedy struck again when TJ – still living in the village with dad Terry – contracted E.coli. And in a heartbreaking turn of events, TJ’s dad Terry was killed off following a fire in the village.
With seven-year-old TJ an orphan, Bob decided the best thing for him was to go and live with his ex-wife Jean (Julie Higginson; Susan Penhaligon) in Morocco – and has remained there ever since.
However, fans are convinced a return is on the cards for TJ. What’s more, viewers are certain he’s already appeared on screen. Sharing their thoughts online, people reckon TJ could actually be Dylan (Fred Kettle) the homeless pal of April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) who made his debut last week.
As viewers will recall, April – who is also Bob’s granddaughter – went missing at Christmas for several weeks. And in an emotional episode last week, viewers got to see everything she got up to since fleeing the Dales – including striking up a friendship with Dylan who was also living on the street.s
“Ok wacky theory time but bare with me, how old would you say Dylan is, 22 maybe would you say? So could Dylan ( now sit down and hold on tight here comes the wacky stuff) could “Dylan” be TJ, Bob’s grandson?” said one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page.
Other fans agreed, with one person writing: “As in dawns son? That’s a great theory.” A third chimed in: “He is supposedly in Morocco but you never know.” Echoing their thoughts, another wrote: “Good theory and I think Dylan could be in his early twenties.”
