Her debut song is out now.
Emmerdale star Katie Hill has launched her new career outside of acting.
The Sarah Sugden actor announced last year that she intended to make music, and now she has released a song titled ‘Bitter Sweet’.
In a social media video filmed in a car, Katie told her fans that the song was out now on various streaming services, and she asked people to give it a listen and let her know if they like it.
The song finds the star reflecting on previous experiences, admitting that she was probably too young at the time, but wouldn’t change what has happened as it’s helped make her the person she is now. Production, from co-writer Jacob Clarke, is pretty sparse in terms of instrumentation, but the layers of backing vocals give a dreamy aspect to the reminiscing.
“Yayy so proud of you,” commented Amelia Spencer actor Daisy Campbell, while Mackenzie Boyd actor Lawrence Robb said: “The song is gorgeous! Well done!”
When Katie announced her move into music last year, she explained that she would be doing it alongside her acting, rather than stepping away from the soap to focus on it completely.
Meanwhile, Katie’s co-star Eden Taylor-Draper spoke about her currently storyline, which has seen her character Belle walk out on her husband Tom due to his behaviour, although we know that he will continue to further manipulate her, and that the plot will run until the end of the year.
“There’s still so much to see and such a journey to go on. It might not all be as smooth sailing as I and you would hope!” she told Digital Spy as part of a longer, exclusive interview.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
