Jonny McPherson is known to millions of Emmerdale fans as Liam Cavanagh

An Emmerdale star has spoken of how fans get very distracted when they meet him in Leeds.

Jonny McPherson, 42, who plays Liam Cavanagh in Emmerdale, has chatted to Inside Soap about living in the city. Jonny said he often bumps into fans but they don’t tend to be that fussed about talking about Emmerdale because of his companion.

He explained: “I like to walk my dog, Molly. She’s a bit of a local celebrity in Leeds.

“The amount of times that I’ll be walking and someone will come up and go ‘Molly! Hi mate, I can’t remember your name’.

“I’ll say ‘don’t worry about it, give her the attention’.”
