Emmerdale spoilers see villager’s life at risk in kidnap plot with character haunted by deadly past

Emmerdale’s Mike Parr has praised his teenage co-star Amelia Flanagan

Emmerdale spoilers reveal a villager’s life will be left at risk following a kidnap plot.

Setting the scene, enjoying lording his closeness with Moses over livid Ross, Mack is pleased to have the stolen cash to provide for his family. Meanwhile,Jade paints a grim picture of the trouble Ross will face if he doesn’t come up with the £10,000 she claims has been stolen, despite his protests that he didn’t take it.

Accusations quickly fly over who took Jade’s stolen cash as John inadvertently covers for guilty Mack. Needled by Jade about Charity and April, a fearful Ross is warned of the rising threat to his family if he can’t return Jade’s money. While Ross unsuccessfully tries to convince Charity to take Moses away for a while to protect him, a frustrated April remains oblivious to the sinister nature of the comfort Jade offers.

Frustrated after Marlon rejects her request to go into town after school, April reluctantly accepts a lift from the seemingly friendly Jade. Soon, a video call from Jade reveals that she has kidnapped April.

Ross persuades Billy to lend him his car, insisting he must go alone to rescue April despite lacking the necessary money. After receiving a location pin from Jade, Ross is overwhelmed with dread upon realising he is headed to a place intimately connected to his past. Haunted by flashbacks to Donna’s death, Ross is terrified to find April, tearfully held near the edge of a car park by one of Jade’s goons, as Jade continues to demand the money he doesn’t have.

Emmerdale star Mike Parr, 38, who plays Ross Barton, has told fans what to expect from the upcoming scenes. Mike, who returned to Emmerdale earlier this year, has been full of praise for Amelia Flanagan, 16, who viewers and cast have seen grow up on screen.

She has portrayed April since 2014, appearing in over 500 episodes of the ITV soap, and being involved in some meaty storylines. Mike said: “She’s become a real little adult. It was so bizarre how amazing she was when she came in. She was four-years-old and she always knew her lines.”

Mike added: “She’s a fine young actress. She’s also a lot of fun. She’s got a real good sense of humour. You can joke around with her.”

Mike has shed some light on how Ross feels being so starkly reminded of former love Donna’s death.

“Nobody lives up to Donna in his eyes,” Mike stated. “It is terribly traumatic for him. It brings back the worst memories. It was the first girl he’s ever loved.”

Mike was then asked whether Ross has underestimated the evil Jade. Mike replied: “No, definitely not. He knows that she’s a dangerous sinister character. He just doesn’t realise how deep it all goes with her and what she is willing to do to make sure she wins.”

Mike added: “Obviously, when there’s a kid on the line as well. Ross has a great connection with her due to her being Donna’s daughter.”
