Emmerdale fans sadly know Leyla Harding was one of three characters who died in the dramatic limo crash. On Thursday, March 6 viewers of the ITV soap will see the heartbreaking funeral scenes.

Emmerdale spoilers show acting star Roxy Shahidi will return to reprise her role of Leyla. It will be for a moving voiceover.

Understandably, Leyla’s death has left her son Jacob, played by Joe-Warren Plant, devastated. Roxy Shahidi has opened up about her exit from Emmerdale.

She said: “I have loved playing Leyla because she is so funny, camp and a brilliant character. But at the same time, if I had left it another five years, I might not have felt as excited as I do now.

“I have had a long time to process everything and I am looking forward to my next chapter. I’ve always wanted to explore other things and now I’ve got the opportunity.”
