Emmerdale reveals Will Taylor’s true cause of death in new scene amid ‘killer twist’

Emmerdale spoilers for upcoming scenes appear to confirm for once and for all how Will Taylor died on the ITV soap, amid a theory he was secretly murdered by Joe Tate

New Emmerdale spoilers reveal Will Taylor’s cause of death is shared with his family in scenes later in January.

Weeks on from his sudden and unexpected death at Home Farm following what seemed to be a heart attack, his daughter Dawn Taylor learns the truth. Amid her and her husband Billy Fletcher speculating returning character Joe Tate and Will’s wife Kim Tate could know more than they are letting on, a discovery leaves her unsure in upcoming episodes.

Viewers will know that Dean Andrews’ character Will died suddenly at Christmas after a row with Kim. Joe made his return to the show after six years and revealed Will was plotting against her, with him and Peter.

Joe exposed Will’s plan to destroy Kim, and he claimed he was actually testing Will and didn’t want revenge – while fans are convinced this is a lie. When Kim ended things with Will and went to leave, he suddenly clutched his chest and collapsed to the floor.

In the next episode Will died, with Kim left distraught. She and Joe covered up what really happened in Will’s final moments, and how he’d been lying to Kim for weeks – but her and Joe’s behaviour has only sparked suspicion with Dawn and Billy.

Given Joe’s past and the fact he fled in 2018 after Kim ordered for him to be killed, the pair currently believe something isn’t right. Viewers agree with this, with many convinced Joe might have somehow drugged Will to trigger his heart attack and kill him.

But new spoilers have revealed new information comes to light in upcoming episodes, that appears to confirm how Will really died. Dawn is convinced Joe is behind her dad’s death and confronts him, only for a call to come through after the coroner report is released.

On the call, Dawn hears the report confirm that Will has died from natural causes. Interestingly this line is in quotations, no doubt as it’s a direct line from the episode – but could it tease it’s not actually confirmed?

Things soon take a turn though, when a confession from Will from beyond the grave leaves Dawn convinced that Kim killed her father. She finds a USB in Will’s belongings marked for her attention.

She soon plays a video, and it features Will accusing Kim of his death. As Will’s funeral arrives, Dawn wastes no time in confronting Kim with her findings, accusing her of killing her dad.

Kim is in shock over the video and appalled to be accused of killing the man she loved, still not exposing Will’s lies. Dawn ends up shoving Kim into Will’s coffin and storms out of the service, before calling the police on Kim.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
