Emmerdale’s April Windsor hasn’t been seen for weeks – but fans are certain they know who has kidnapped the teenager in a shock twist
Emmerdale has appeared to confirm who has taken April Windsor – and it is not who fans would expect.
Teenager April (Amelia Flanagan) vanished from the Dales at Christmastime – with the youngster last seen getting in a strange car driven by a mysterious individual.
April’s disappearance came following a fraught period in her relationship with Marlon, after she found out the truth about her mum Donna’s (Verity Rushworth) death in 2014.
April then turned to booze and drugs, before going missing. Since then, dad Marlon (Mark Charnock) has been left reeling, determined to try and find out where April is, along with the rest of the village.
However, during Thursday’s episode (January 2) things took a dramatic turn when Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) a young doctor in training, was working a shift in A&E. He was left startled by the arrival of a young woman who had been stabbed – and later died.
Although Jacob didn’t see the patient’s face, he found her purse and realised it belonged to missing April, leading him to fear the worst. He promptly informed April’s anxious parents, Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk (Zoë Henry).
However, upon identifying the body, Marlon and Rhona were shocked to discover that it wasn’t April but another person. Marlon was relieved to know that April wasn’t dead – but still shared his worries over her whereabouts.
However, fans are certain they ‘know’ where April is and who has taken her. Sharing their thoughts online, viewers fear that Anna, the family liaison officer to April Windsor’s family could have played a part in her disappearance.
“I think the liaison officer is dodgy, putting it out there!” said one fan on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page. Someone else replied: “I said this when she was at the hospital. Something doesn’t seem right.” A third agreed: “Maybe she’s bent and took April?”
Actress Rhea Bailey plays family liaison officer Anna. She also had a major role in Coronation Street, playing deranged abuser Caz Hammond. Rhea was on the cobbles between 2015 and 2016 – with her character infamously controlling and abusing girlfriend Kate Connor (Faye Brookes).
She also stalked and terrorised Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) and even went on to frame Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) for her own death, before she was finally exposed.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
