Emmerdale fans think they know what Manpreet Sharma is really hiding and who might be the one messaging her amid a blackmail twist coming up on the ITV soap

The latest episode of Emmerdale may have given away who will blackmail Manpreet Sharma on the ITV soap.

The character has been hiding something from everyone, until a flashback appeared to confirm what was going on. Leyla Harding found out her secret just before she died, and no one else knows – apart from the mystery person who has been messaging the doctor.

Manpreet has had constant messages on her phone for weeks, hiding her phone from others. She’s been acting weirdly, and while she initially claimed the messages were from a patient, it’s now been hinted it could be a villager.

On Thursday we saw Leyla walk in on Manpreet at the surgery, just as she was smirking at something on her laptop. Leyla gasped loudly, staring at the laptop as Manpreet slammed it shut.

As she confronted Leyla and told her not to tell anyone, Leyla seemed stunned before asking: “Is that you?” She then kept staring at Manpreet’s body and shouted: “Wow!”

After another reference to the secret being linked to Manpreet’s appearance, it was hinted she could be hiding posting racy images or content online. Viewers believed this was the case, leading to ideas about who was messaging her.

Viewers immediately assumed that someone subscribed to her content could be the one harassing her, and the person set to blackmail her. While it could be an unknown person, some fans wondered if it was a fellow villager.

Fans questioned if Billy Fletcher was exchanging saucy messages with Manpreet after hints he would be looking at her online dating profile. But if it is Billy sending the messages, is he also the person blackmailing her or could there be more to it?

Some fans were sure the messages were from Billy, if not Liam Cavanagh or Bob Hope. There’s also the theory that Billy will end up blackmailing Manpreet over whatever it is she is hiding, possibly due to his past money issues – but would Billy really blackmail her?

Another theory was that it could be Dawn, Billy’s wife, threatening Manpreet if she finds out about Billy possibly messaging Manpreet or being on her profile. Other fans wondered if it was a catfish out to get her, or maybe even her killer sister Meena Jutla – or someone from Manpreet’s past.

On her secret one fan said: “Haha no way is Dr Manpreet on only fans or something ??? Haha I’m deceased, has taken me out.” Another agreed: “Think she set up onlyfans Leyla caught her looking at profile,” as a third added: “Looked like probably an only fans type thing x.”

As for who the blackmailer could be, one fan said: “I wonder if it’s Billy? He might not be blackmailing her but he did have money issues recently so what if he wants the cash? Or what if Dawn finds out about Billy and Manpreet and is trying to get revenge?”

Another posted: “What if it’s Meena? I saw people saying she might come back? I do think Billy is messaging Manpreet and maybe someone finds out and blackmails her or both of them.” A third fan wrote: “Oh god not going down a catfish blackmail storyline please.”

One fan posted: “Could be Meena her sister who’s in prison,” as a further post read: “I’m thinking it could be Billy.” Another post said: “I reckon it’s something embarrassing she did when she was younger and being blackmailed?” while a further comment said: “I know there was mention of Billy looking at her profile so could he still be wanting cash and could he blackmail Manpreet? Is it someone else in the village?”
