With Emmerdale’s Peter and Will exposed as enemies and a secret boss set to make their debut on Christmas Eve, fans are convinced they already know who it is
Emmerdale seems to have unveiled the identity of Peter’s enigmatic boss, spelling trouble for Kim Tate.
Peter, played by David Michaels, arrived in the Dales this year amidst the tumultuous split between Kim Tate (Claire King) and Will (Dean Andrews). In an attempt to safeguard her wealth from Will, Kim enlisted the services of financial advisor Peter.
However, Kim chose to end her dispute with Will and halt their divorce proceedings, realising she still harboured feelings for him. Will reciprocated these sentiments, leading to a swift rekindling of their relationship.
The couple are now looking forward to renewing their vows on Christmas Day. But a shocking twist recently revealed that Peter and Will have been secretly conspiring for months to bring down Kim. Adding to the intrigue, it turns out Peter isn’t acting alone – he’s collaborating with an unknown individual intent on ruining Kim’s life, reports Leeds Live.
So far, little has been disclosed about this mysterious figure, other than that they are male and currently overseas. Will is also unaware of the identity of the boss. This enigmatic man plans to arrive in the village on Christmas Eve, perfectly timed to disrupt Will and Kim’s vow renewal ceremony.
However, during Monday’s episode (December 23), the soap hinted at a potential suspect. At Home Farm, Will was taken aback when Peter arrived, insisting that his boss required information on Kim from Will.
An exasperated Will declared he had enough of the subterfuge, confronting Peter with his belief that Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) is the enigmatic boss, citing Jamie’s animosity towards Kim as a motive rivalling his own past disdain.
Peter remained tight-lipped about whether Jamie is indeed the clandestine figurehead – yet as ardent followers remember, Jamie is Kim’s offspring, born in 1996. Moreover, the audience was swift to voice their opinions online.
On platform X, speculation is rife that the mention of Jamie might merely be a “red herring”. One viewer speculated: “Red herring as I still think it’s Joe-Too obvious to for it to be Jamie!” Echoing this sentiment, another added: “That Jamie naming has to be a red herring!” A third contributed to the theory, asserting: “I’m still saying it’s Joe Tate for the return!!”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
