Fans of Emmerdale may get to see a whole different side to one of its long-standing residents should she finally say yes to appearing on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Emmerdale’s Mandy Dingle star Lisa Riley has revealed she is keen to sign up to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! before her 50th birthday.
The actress said after years of turning it down, she may finally be ready to take on the gruesome Bushtucker trials, in a bid to challenge herself.
Lisa, 48, spilled: “I’m A Celebrity is something I would do before I turned 50, as a test for myself. They ask me most years and I wouldn’t rule it out.”
Previously quizzed about signing up, she insisted that work commitments had stopped her from doing so.
Nevertheless, she is keen to take on the show’s challenges, telling the Daily Star: “It’s not because of all the creepy crawlies or the challenges, I actually wouldn’t mind those.”
Lisa is no stranger to a reality show having competed on Strictly Come Dancing with the late Robin Windsor back in 2012.
The former dancing duo made it all the way to the semi-final, before judges opted to put Denise Van Outen through to the final instead of her, after a dance-off.
Lisa is best known for portraying Emmerdale’s Mandy between 1995 and 2001, and from 2019 onwards.

This week, she finds herself involved in yet another dramatic storyline amongst 16 other residents of the Dales.
“It’s party night. All the girls are glammed up but things go wrong,” she told Woman’s Weekly Magazine.
“A huge row breaks out in the boys’ limo and there’s utter chaos in the girls’ limo, and both cars separately swerve off the road.
“They’re both packed with people and one of them crashes onto a frozen lake.”
Multiple villagers are expected to die in the tragedy, while another remains trapped in the freezing depths below.
Seemingly confirming the deaths, she added to the publication: “The crash means that dear, dear friends of mine will be leaving the show, which is always sad.”
In the trailer, chaotic moments from the crash show passengers being thrown around in the limo as they scream in distress.
The characters then swiftly realise they are balancing on thin ice on a frozen lake before further drama unfolds.
Mandy’s fate from the crash remains unknown, however she’s confirmed she has no plans to leave the soap on her own accord.
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
