Emmerdale legend Kim Tate could be set for a new romance with an unexpected villager following the death of her husband Will Taylor
Emmerdale’s Kim Tate, played by Claire King, could be in for a surprising new romance following the demise of her husband Will Taylor.
Fans will remember that Kim and Will, portrayed by Dean Andrews, had reignited their love affair after months of conflict. In an attempt to move forward, Kim proposed they renew their vows on Christmas Day.
However, unbeknownst to Kim, Will was conspiring with her ex-financial advisor Peter, played by David Michaels, to bring her down. Moreover, it was revealed that Peter was also working for a mysterious person seeking revenge on Kim Tate.
This enigmatic character was later unveiled as none other than Joe Tate, played by Ned Porteous, leading to a dramatic turn of events on Christmas Day. Following their vow renewal, Joe made an unexpected appearance at Home Farm, leaving Kim stunned.
He then disclosed to Kim about Will’s plot against her, which she realised was ‘true’, reports Leeds Live. When alone with Will, Kim declared their marriage was over. Suddenly, Will clutched his chest, collapsing onto the floor and bringing down the Christmas tree.
As he gasped for air, Kim looked on. Upon realising that Will was actually dying, Kim panicked and did everything she could to keep him alive. Despite her efforts, the emergency services arrived only to confirm that Will had tragically passed away.
Since then, Kim and Will’s daughter Dawn (portrayed by Olivia Bromley) have been left devastated as they mourn Will. Yet, Emmerdale enthusiasts are convinced that Kim is on the verge of a new romance.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, a theory circulated that Kim could potentially kindle a love interest with Joe Tate. Joe Tate is the bereaved offspring of Christopher Tate and Rachel Hughes. His dramatic departure in 2018 came after he was compelled to flee, subsequent to Kim who had been wed to his step-grandfather Frank Tate orchestrating a plot for his murder.
However, with Joe’s return to the Dales and his apparent alignment with the side of good, viewers feel that it’s just a matter of time before he begins a liaison with the grief-stricken Kim.
One enthusiast wrote on the page: “Joe and Kim will sleep together they’re not bio related.” This sentiment gained traction, with another follower commenting: “I can see it tbh.” Another chimed in agreement: “Hey it’s Emmerdale cousins sleep together!”
