Emmerdale’s Caleb Miligan will soon find himself needing emergency care – but fans think they know who is responsible
Emmerdale fans are fearing Steph Milligan will accidentally shoot her dad Caleb after she discovered his gun hidden in a safe.
As fans of the ITV soap will know, a recent flashforward showed Caleb Miligan (played by William Ash) unconscious in a hospital bed, sparking speculation about his health.
Many viewers initially suspected Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) was responsible for his uncle Caleb’s medical drama in an organ transplant twist, but some fans now think it will be Steph who leaves Caleb’s life in jeopardy.
On Tuesday (March 11), Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) made an alarming discovery in her search for grandfather Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day). She is yet to discover Anthony was killed by his daughter Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) earlier this year.
In the aftermath, Ruby, Caleb (William Ash), John (Oliver Farnworth), Cain (Jeff Hordley), Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Aaron (Danny Miller) agreed to keep the truth hidden for the sake of themselves, but also Steph, who still doesn’t know her grandad is actually her father.
Steph’s consistent nagging over what really happened to Anthony has been driving Caleb and Ruby to distraction. They’re being forced to constantly lie and try to convince Steph that her grandad is fine, he just doesn’t want to be contacted.
Steph took a slightly different approach in her quest for the truth and approached Caleb and Aaron in The Woolpack and said she had heard from Anthony, leaving the pair stunned by the news. Caleb reacted quickly, letting her daughter know that it was good news Anthony had finally made contact.
But Aaron told Caleb that she obviously knew something was up because why else would Steph say a statement that she knows isn’t true? In a desperate attempt to throw Steph off the truth, Caleb decided to visit her lover Ross Barton (Michael Parr), thinking he could help.
However, before the episode concluded, Steph told Ross to leave Mill Cottage as she attempted to open the house safe. When she successfully opened the door, to Steph’s horror, there was a gun inside of the safe.
After months of squabbling with her mum, some fans think Steph will try and shoot Ruby but Caleb will jump in front of her and take the bullet to save his wife.
Taking to X, one fan wrote: “I wonder where on earth Steph is going with the gun? Maybe she’s just going to confront her mum and dad with it asking them why they even have 1 #Emmerdale.”
A second asked: “What if Steph is the one who shoots Caleb and puts him in hospital, if he takes the bullet for Ruby? #Emmerdale @EmmaLouiseWebb3,”
A third pondered: “Who is Steph going to shoot? Cos obviously now she’s found the gun she’s going to use it #Emmerdale.”
On Facebook, another predicted: “She’ll threaten to shoot mummy until all is revealed.”
