Emmerdale viewers think they have figured out which character is secretly bombarding Manpreet Sharma with mystery text messages on her phone on the ITV soap

Viewers think they know who is possibly harassing Manpreet Sharma on Emmerdale, after some mystery text messages.

Soap fans are yet to see who is sending the messages or what they are about, but doctor Manpreet’s phone keeps buzzing. She keeps checking her phone and has talked of messages which she implied were from a patient.

When quizzed over why a patient would be messaging her personal phone she remained coy, and has been hiding her phone screen out of view. This continues next week when the texts continue and Liam Cavanagh accidentally picks up her phone.

Manpreet’s reaction to this leaves Liam and partner Chas Dingle confused and suspicious. So what is Manpreet hiding and who is messaging her?

Fans are wondering if the character is being tormented by another resident in the village after a recent scene. John Sugden and Aaron Dingle are two residents covering up the murder of Anthony Fox.

John disposed of the body and finally told the others involved where he’d buried Anthony in an episode this week, while fans think he’s lying about the location. Around the time John and Aaron were trying to make it seem as though Anthony had left the village, there was an incident with Manpreet.

Aaron and John were spending all night in Cain Dingle’s garage, removing evidence of Anthony and taking apart his car. The noise was disturbing Manpreet who lives nearby.

In a scene we saw her spying out the window as Aaron and John left for the night. She then reported the noise complaint and the bizarre goings on in the garage to PC Swirling, and he did not take it very seriously.

But given Manpreet could hear what was going on, does John think she might be able to name him as a suspect in Anthony’s disappearance? Some fans think it’s John messaging Manpreet, either trying to silence her or messing with her after what she saw that night.

Taking to social media one fan theorised: “I think Manpreet is getting messages from John. (Although she doesn’t know it’s John) I think he knows what she heard/saw from her window the night John and Aaron were discussing hiding Anthony’s body. All of this is based on my thought that John is some kind of killer.”

Manpreet’s secrecy and messages will continue next week as the soap teases more about what she is hiding. Fans will see a flashback to before the limo crash, and it will likely reveal what Manpreet is up to.
