Emmerdale aired some shocking scenes tonight after someone got shot amid this huge storyline with Ruby’s father Anthony – but fans have worked out who gets injured
Emmerdale aired some big scenes this evening – as a gunshot rang out on the ITV soap.
Fans have long been speculating what happens to Anthony after it was confirmed in a flashforward that he had died. Anthony was seen covered in blood and lying on the floor – but who killed him and what happened to him?
Whilst those scenes have yet to officially happen in the real timeline of the ITV soap, the flashforwards have confirmed that Anthony has died – but with multiple people gunning for him, who killed him?
We now know what fans have long suspected, Steph is actually Anthony’s daughter and he had raped his daughter Ruby when she was younger leading to the pregnancy. Caleb knows what Anthony did to his wife, whilst Cain and Chas also know.

One fan wrote: “At the end of the episode there’s a scuffle as both have a hand on the gun. What I’m thinking is, maybe Caleb gets shot and this is how he ends up in hospital!” whilst a second added on Reddit: “Yes, I thought that, with Anthony dying from his head wound. However, Caleb will be out of hospital by Friday, although, he was released very shortly after his cliff push.”
Ruby decided to undergo a DNA test on her daughter Steph to find out about who Steph’s real dad was.
“It was from talking to Chas, plus I think it was all just brought up by her dad being there. She is really struggling and Chas, I think, believes in the love between Caleb and Ruby. Chas is trying to calm her down by saying Caleb would stand by her in any situation. Ruby is obviously terrified, but it is a real problem having not known for 30 years,” actress Beth Cordingly said.
“I think she wants to put her mind at rest, to not be tortured by this anymore but she can’t guarantee that that will happen. The ironic thing, of course, is that if she did have proof, she wouldn’t be able to do anything about it, because she wouldn’t want to destroy Steph’s life. Her head’s in such a mess. I think she’s desperate to tell someone, but desperate not to destroy everyone else’s lives.”
