Emmerdale’s Manpreet Sharma finally revealed the secret she has been hiding during Friday night’s instalment
Emmerdale fans seem to think they have worked out who could be sending Manpreet Sharma (played by Rebecca Sarker) text messages after she finally revealed what she was hiding.
The village doctor has been glued to her phone lately, which hasn’t gone unnoticed. However, Manpreet finally came clean to her colleague Ella (Paula Lane) during Friday night’s episode.
After being quizzed about it by Ella, Manpreet confessed: “I think I am being blackmailed.”
“Why? Who would do that? Why would somebody have a hold over you?” Ella asked, and the GP replied, “I can’t say it; it is too embarrassing.”
She hesitantly added: “I have been posting photos of myself online.”
“What sort of photos?” Ella asked as Manpreet shot back: “What sort do you think?”
She later added: “Imagine it, Ella, if it gets out? Online, in the local newspaper all about the dodgy doc who gets her kit off. I can kiss any hero status goodbye.”
However, after convincing Manpreet to delete her profile, the messages from her stalker continued to ping on her phone.
After sending screenshots of her photos, the mystery person said: “One word to the police and everyone will know your secret. I’ll be in touch.”
“Who is doing this to me?” Manpreet asked before the episode came to an end.
Following the episode, fans took to a Facebook fan page to share their theories. Many seem to think either Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) or Ella could be sending the messages.
One fan quizzed: “I wonder who’s stalking Manpreet.”
“Joe,” another fan replied, while a third added: “Ella, it makes sense.”
“I reckon Ella or Brenda, leading up to their exits,” a fourth theorised.
Throwing another theory into the mix, someone else suggested Manpreet’s sister, Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).
One agreed: “I heard Meena was coming back.”
Another fan suggested it could be Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) after she saw what was on Manpreet’s phone when she dropped it on the floor in the shop.
“Tracy, she is desperate for cash,” they wrote on the Facebook fan page.
