Emmerdale fans have been eagerly waiting for Tom King to be brought down – and it could be sooner than we think
Emmerdale fans think they have figured out who will bring down Tom King, but more than one villager could die.
Tom King (played by James Chase) has been abusing his wife, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), for months, and in recent scenes, Belle attacked her husband with an axe and soon handed herself into the police.
Despite Tom trying to blackmail the Dingle favourite, Belle finally confessed to the police that her husband was abusing her, and an investigation is ongoing. However, Belle has been ordered to stay away from Tom; otherwise, she will be arrested.
The vet also tries to turn the villagers against Belle, telling everyone she is suffering from her mental health and that she is lying – but no one believes him except for naive Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), who seems to have fallen for his lies.
Ever since Tom’s mask started to slip, fans have been devising theories and suggestions about what will happen next.
One fan seems to think Tom will finally get caught out and be sent to prison – and that he will be killed by a familiar face.
Taking to a Facebook fan page dedicated to the soap, one fan shared: “I am thinking Tom’s final demise could be Tom will either attack Amelia or he will attack Belle in front of Amelia and Amelia will kill him either accidentally (like she pushed him away and he will fall on a knife that he’s got in his hands) or deliberately in defence of herself or to defend Belle.
“Or he will abuse Amelia, go to court, be found guilty of domestic abuse against Belle or Amelia and go to prison, but he will be killed in prison either by one of the Dingles who will be in the same prison as him or Amelia’s dad Dan Spencer (Liam Fox).”
If the theory proves true and Tom attacks Belle or Amelia, then more than one villager could die, leading to a double exit from the village.
However, despite fan theories, official spoilers reveal Tom will continue to manipulate Belle next week.
In upcoming scenes, Belle is deeply distressed when Mandy unintentionally lets slip that Cain (Jeff Hordley) had informed Zak (Steve Halliwell) about Tom’s abusive behaviour, and Belle struggles with the fact they discussed it behind her back.
When an anonymous bouquet of sympathy flowers arrives, Belle spirals into fear, suspecting it’s a cruel message from Tom.
Lydia (Karen Blick) and Sam (James Hooton) grow increasingly worried about Belle, who breaches her bail conditions by confronting Tom, leaving Belle distraught without her father’s guidance.
Belle is left stunned when DS Foy arrives to arrest her for violating her bail conditions. In the police interview room, she is taken aback by the grim warning that if she contacts Tom again, she’ll be heading to prison.
Belle’s mental health begins to deteriorate rapidly. Once back home, Belle maintains an outward appearance of calm as she privately battles her inner demons.
The following day, Lydia worries that Belle may not be managing well. It soon becomes apparent that Belle’s mind is filled with a tumult of voices, but she yearns to hear the soothing voice of her father. Sam and Lydia are distressed when they discover the depth of her mental suffering upon finding Belle at her lowest.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
