Emmerdale’s Tom Dingle is in cahoots with his solicitor Ollie but viewers have now ‘rumbled’ who his sibling is – and it’s someone in the Dales
Emmerdale Tom King’s solicitor Ollie is related to someone in the village in a huge DNA twist, according to fans.
The soap newcomer (Alistair Toovey) made his debut this year as a pal of Tom’s (James Chase). Tom has since hired Ollie as his solicitor after his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) attacked him in the back with an axe in self-defence.
As fans will recall, Tom abused Belle and made her life a living hell for months, before she finally broke free. However, after she attacked Tom, she is currently facing the prospect of spending time behind bars.
At least that’s what Tom, and solicitor Ollie, are determined to do. However, last week, someone vandalised Tom’s car after the police released him without charge following another interview regarding his abuse of his wife Belle.
And during Monday’s episode (November 4), Tom was found bloodied and bruised outside a church, claiming he had been attacked. He refused to go to A&E or involve the police, explaining that he didn’t see the culprit who’d targeted him.
It was later revealed though, that Tom had got Ollie to attack him, in a bid to frame Belle’s brother Sam Dingle (James Hootoon). However, a nervous Ollie suggested that it might be time for Tom to find a new solicitor.
But Tom turned nasty and threatened to use some leverage he has over Ollie unless he carried on cooperating. Tom appeared to suggest that he knew a secret about Ollie that could come to light if he backed out.
Now, fans are certain they have ‘worked out’ the real identity of Ollie – and he’s related to someone in the Dales. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, reacting to the Tom and Ollie bombshell, one person said: “What if solicitor Ollie is Tom’s half brother? His mum Colleen could have had an affair years ago with Ollie’s dad?”
Other viewers agreed, as someone else penned: “Yes! And Tom’s been blackmailing and abusing him all this time as well.” A third mused: “I don’t think he’s dodgy, and that would make sense if they were related.”
Echoing their thoughts, another viewer said: “That would be a good twist, I think it will be him that brings Tom down, someone no one is expecting.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
