Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ how Caleb Milligan will destroy Jimmy King

Emmerdale fans are convinced that Caleb Milligan is planning to destroy Jimmy King’s business as part of his revenge against Kim Tate

Emmerdale fans are speculating that Caleb Milligan, played by William Ash, is plotting to establish a rival ‘Home Farm’ and swindle Jimmy King (Nick Miles) out of his own business in a revenge scheme against Kim Tate (Claire King). Last week, Jimmy dispatched Rodney (Patrick Mower) on a haulage assignment, only to discover upon his return that the cargo had vanished.

Unbeknownst to Jimmy, it was Caleb who had stolen the goods, later confessing to his wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) that he required lorries for his new venture. Jimmy’s business is jointly owned by Kate and her partner Will (Dean Andrews), so Caleb has no qualms about duping them.

On Friday (August 9), Jimmy’s troubles escalated when a vehicle inspector unexpectedly arrived for an impromptu check, causing him considerable stress.

The inspector intended to examine the tachographs, devices installed in lorries to monitor speed, distance, driving time, and ensure drivers take adequate breaks.

After scrutinising the records, the inspector informed Jimmy that he had exceeded the permitted driving hours. Caught off guard, Jimmy was alarmed when the inspector issued a fine and gave him 28 days to settle it.

Jimmy also disclosed that he had lost a significant contract which constituted a large portion of the company’s revenue, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Back in the Dales, Jimmy King confided in Nicola that he hadn’t been completely truthful about his workload. He’d been secretly taking on extra shifts for cash to cope with Angel’s (Rebecca Bakes) absence.

Nicola was left reeling, unsure of how they would settle their mounting debts. However, it turned out the costly visit was nothing but a con.

Elsewhere, the so-called inspector met with Caleb, expressing satisfaction with their scheme and ready to hand over £500.

But when the inspector got greedy, demanding £1,000 instead, Caleb stood his ground, refusing to be extorted and walked off.

Emmerdale fans are sympathising with Jimmy as he faces financial ruin due to Caleb’s machinations, aiming to take over his business to establish a rival empire against Kim.

On social media platform X, one fan speculated: “Prob after the haulage firm… at a steal of a price”, while another expressed concern: “Poor Jimmy it was set up by Caleb #Emmerdale.”

Another fan predicted: “Caleb wants Home James Haulage — we’re predicting a name change after he purchases…Wonder if he knows the history? Zoe sold the assets of Home Farm to the Kings so its like Caleb claiming it back, the new Tate empire….#TheTates #CalebMiliganTate #Emmerdale.”

And yet another viewer chimed in: “Not Caleb wanting to build a second Home Farm though #Emmerdale,”.

“Caleb’s last scheme didn’t work out too well, hopefully this one won’t either. Poor Jimmy #emmerdale,” another remark shared a similar sentiment.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
