Emmerdale fans think Will Taylor’s death was murder after his fatal heart attack on Christmas Day, amid the return of former villain Joe Tate on the ITV soap
There could be an Emmerdale murder twist on the way according to fans, with suspicions raised over Will Taylor’s death.
The character, played by actor Dean Andrews, suffered a fatal heart attack last week on the ITV soap amid a row with wife Kim Tate. They were preparing to renew their wedding vows when Will’s plan to destroy Kim came to light.
Will had teamed up with Peter and a mystery character, soon revealed to be Joe, to take Kim down. But when Will changed his mind and vowed to stay with Kim, Joe returned to the village to expose the secret plan.
He told Kim all about working with Will and Peter, but Joe claimed he was actually testing Will to see how far he would go. He implied that he was only telling her everything to protect her, not wanting her to stay with Will.
As Kim confronted her husband he begged her to forgive him, explaining what had happened. But Kim refused to listen and went to leave, only for Will to collapse after clutching his chest.
After Kim realised Will was in a bad way she and Joe called for an ambulance, with Kim performing CPR as he suddenly lost consciousness. Sadly Will could not be saved, with paramedics arriving and declaring he was dead.

While it was revealed Will had suffered a fatal heart attack, with this also shown on screen, Joe being so calm as the incident unfolded sparked suspicion with viewers. With him also urging Kim to cover up the true events of the day in the fallout, fans wondered what he was up to.
Billy Fletcher and Will’s daughter Dawn Taylor are now suspicious that something is array, and that Joe might have been involved in Will’s death. They’re not the only ones though, with viewers now also suspecting Joe may have secretly played a part in his demise.
After Joe was shown going through his bag looking for medication, he appeared to be in pain. Suddenly a load of pill packets came out of the bag, leaving fans wondering what was wrong with him.
Now, fans are wondering if Joe might have drugged Will to trigger his heart attack, leading to his sad death. Taking to X, one viewer said: “We’re wondering whether the postmortem will show up tablets in Will’s system that match Joe’s heart drugs?”
Another fan said: “Could Billy be onto something about Joe? Could Joe be linked to Will’s death? Or did he just die of a heart attack naturally?” A third fan posted: “The way Joe is manipulating Kim – I have a feeling he did something to Will that triggered his heart attack,” as a fourth commented: “Think Joe drugged Will’s drink to bring the heart attack on; definitely suss he couldn’t care less about whether he lived or died!”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
