Emmerdale fans sickened as Steph’s real father revealed after Caleb bombshell

Emmerdale aired a grim discovery on Wednesday night, as Caleb Miligan learned he was not the father of his and Ruby Miligan’s daughter Steph, with the true dad confirmed

There were tense scenes on Emmerdale on Wednesday night, as the truth about Steph Miligan’s paternity was revealed.

In a sickening twist, Ruby Miligan failed to dispose of the DNA test results before husband Caleb Miligan could get his hands on them. Viewers know that Ruby was urged to get the rests sorted recently, after she broke her silence about a devastating ordeal from when she was a teenager.

Ruby was sexually abused by her own father Anthony Fox, with a flashback episode confirming he had raped her on her 16th birthday. Around this time she was also seeing Caleb, and when she fell pregnant with Steph she claimed Caleb was the dad.

But the horrifying truth was confirmed to viewers on Wednesday night, as the DNA test results came in. Caleb had found the letter in Ruby’s bag and read it while she was out of the house.

She’d planned to destroy it not wanting to know the truth, fearing her dad Anthony was Steph’s real dad. But when Caleb read it out it soon became apparent that he was not Steph’s biological father and he broke down.

As he slammed Ruby, unaware of what had happened all those years earlier, it became grimly apparent to fans who the dad was. Anthony had to be the father of his granddaughter Steph, and now it seems the truth will finally come out.

Ahead of Anthony being killed off in a brutal whodunnit next week, fans shared their reactions to the horrifying twist. One fan posted on X as they realised Anthony was Steph’s biological dad: “Anthony your time is almost up,” as another agreed: “Do one Anthony!!!!”

Another comment read: “Tonight’s emmerdale is nauseating,” as a further comment read: “Ruby must be terrified of the impact on Steph if she finds out that grandfather is actually her father.” A further comment read: “I think it’s Ruby’s dad is Steph’s dad.”

One fan also posted: “Eww Anthony is Steph’s dad not grandad… that sounds sick to even write…”, as another said: “You disgusting human being Anthony.” Next week a string of suspects feature in dramatic scenes with Anthony, leading to his gross demise. It seems his actions towards Ruby and the truth about Steph’s parentage comes to light resulting in his grisly end.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
