Soap viewers have been impatiently waiting for Tom King to face comeuppance in Emmerdale but as his downfall could be imminent, some of them believe they know who will expose him.
Tom King is going above and beyond to discredit Belle Dingle but someone close to him could be set to expose him themselves.
Emmerdale fans have grown increasingly eager to see the vile vet played by James Chase get comeuppance for his wrongdoings, which include a multitude of vile acts from abusing Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) to hurting her beloved pet dog Piper.
In more recent scenes, as the Dingles keep a cautious eye on what he could do next, the son of Carl King has also began to torment Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), who has been oblivious to his treacherous ways.
Meanwhile, Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) decided to leave Victoria Cottage as she caught on to what Tom was really up to, leaving her husband Jimmy (Nick Miles), Tom’s only remaining ally, devastated.

However, following scenes aired on Tuesday evening (November 5), viewers began to hope that Jimmy could have finally had a glimpse at Tom’s true colours. Taking to social media at the time, many of them shared their thoughts but after more recent scenes aired this Wednesday (November 6), fans of the Yorkshire-based programme had enough.
Over on Twitter, now X, one wrote: “Jimmy is going to look a right fool when he finally sees Tom tit for who he really is, I hope the whole village sends him to Coventry”, while a second theorised that Jimmy will catch Tom abusing Amelia physically, leading to him turning his nephew in to the police for his crimes: “I’m beginning to think that Jimmy will catch Tom beating her up, and that’s how it ends.”
Elsewhere on the social media platform, another batch of soap watchers were concerned for Amelia’s well-being, particularly after actress Daisy Campbell is due to leave the drama, though she did insist that the door had been left open for her ITV alter-ego.
“Beginning to think belle had a real premonition of tom killing amelia”, one fan commented, in reference to a previous episode of Emmerdale, focused on Belle and her torment. Another quipped: “If Amelia leaves by the end of the year, is it too much to hope that Tom does her in?”
Multiple theories about Tom’s potential downfall on the long-running soap have blossomed online, while some fans believe the villain shouldn’t be killed off, out of fear soap bosses could send a negative message to domestic abuse survivors, who still struggle to speak out about their own real-life ordeals.
However, a potential death appeared to be teased for Tom after a showdown with Belle led her to strike him in the back with an axe, as she was terrified for her life. Tom was eventually found as Belle, Lydia (Karen Blick), Sam (James Hooton) and Vinny (Bradley Johnson) were helping her cover the attack up.
Completely unaware of what was really going on, Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) called an ambulance and saved Tom’s life. But will Tom be as lucky when his time on the Dales runs out?
