Leyla left Jacob a devastating answerphone message

Emmerdale fans have predicted Jacob Gallagher will ‘go off the rails again’ after his mum Leyla Harding died in a limousine accident.

Three characters died in the ITV soap after the Valentine’s Day crash. One of these was Leyla who Jacob had a falling out with beforehand. Mournful Jacob was in tears, stating his mum “died thinking I hated her” to Eric, who was trying to comfort him.

They then discovered she’d left him an answerphone message before getting on the limo. Leyla said: “Hey Jacob, it’s mum. I’m just about to head off on this big night out. A bit 50/50 about it, really. I’m excited but I also can’t be bothered. If I’m being honest, I’d much rather snuggle up on the sofa with you, forcing you to watch Australian reality TV. I know you love it, really.

“I hate falling out with you and there’s more than a tiny bit of truth in what you said about me. I am going to sort myself out. I am going to get on with my life and give you the space that you need. I just want you to know that I heard you. I’m sorry. Bye, well I better drag this sorry mess to the dancefloor. Maybe a good boogie is what I need? I love you, I love you so much, just always know that. Okay, love you.”

“I never got a chance to tell her how much I love her,” said a tearful Jacob. Fans took to X to share their concern.
