The penny finally dropped for Caleb

Fans of Emmerdale predict a new rivalry which threatens to derail everything in the village following revelations in the latest episode.

In today’s episode, a seemingly innocuous conversation between Steph and Caleb had threatened to derail everything in the village. Steph has continued searching for Anthony since Ruby killed him, and remains unaware about his past sexual abuse and the fact that he is her real father.

Trying to protect her, Ruby and Caleb have continued to pretend to look for him, but this episode she got the police involved. Caleb was sat at home when she returned and he asked her where she had been, with her answering that it was woman business at the doctors.

Caleb asked if she were pregnant and she said no, and that she got injections to prevent this. This revelation led to Caleb thinking back on contraceptives he found in the bin, which he believed were Steph’s.

He realised that these must instead have been Ruby’s and he thought back to Anthony telling him that Cain and Ruby had slept together. Disturbed by this he spoke to Cain, eventually asking him to speak to Ruby to put her mind at ease about Anthony’s murder.

When Cain resisted and said he did not need to, Cain got all the confirmation he needed and when Cain asked if they were done, he answered by saying yes, in what many fans took as confirmation that he would turn against Cain.

Then, @mikepriestley13 simply wrote: “Caleb knows about Ruby and Cain…”

Other fans think things will escalate. @Bobbyfet21 wrote: “if Caleb frames Cain for perve’s murder then all Dingles will turn their backs on him. Even if he has done the dirty with Ruby”.
