Viewers watched as Ruby stepped in to give some much needed advice

Emmerdale fans took to social media to praise Ruby Fox-Miligan as she dropped a ‘truth bomb’ on Moira Dingle during Tuesday’s episode.

It’s been a drama-filled few weeks in the Dales as there have been four deaths – not including the discovery of Nate Robinson’s body in the lake – a bombshell revelation thanks to the DNA result showing Anthony as Steph’s biological father, and April tragically having a stillbirth after running away from home on Christmas.

Not only that, but hearts broke after Moira found out that Cain and Ruby had slept together while she was having life-threatening surgery. Moira was diagnosed with a suspected meningioma, a type of brain tumour in 2024 after she was experiencing frequent outbursts of anger, memory loss and seizures.

Cain and Moira have been married for over ten years, after they had an affair starting in 2011 as Moira was married to farmer husband John. After John’s death in 2012, the pair decided to give an actual relationship a go before marrying in 2014.

Unfortunately for the couple, their marriage hit another snag after Cain’s infidelity with his half-brother’s wife, Ruby. They became involved only once as Ruby was struggling to come to terms with Anthony Fox’s appearance in the village, and Cain was finding it difficult to cope with Moira’s surgery.

Anthony figured out what had happened between them and kept it quiet until Caleb held him at gunpoint after he found out that he had sexually abused Ruby repeatedly as a teenager.

Caleb confronted Cain who told him that it was just one of Anthony’s mind games. However, he continued to grow suspicious and on the night of the limo crash, Caleb confronted his brother again which led to him veering off the road.

Eventually, Cain decided to tell Moira who in return told him she didn’t think their marriage could recover from this. During Tuesday’s instalment, Moira celebrated finishing her treatment and her marriage as she told Ruby: “Oh don’t look so surprised”. Ruby then called Moira out as she recalled: “You and Nate… How many other marriages would’ve survived that?”

As Moira responded that it was “years ago”, Ruby remarked: “All I’m trying to say is that you and Cain, you are made for each other”, before adding: “Don’t throw this away out of pride, or pig-headedness, or whatever it is that makes you so angry all the time.”

At the end of the episode, Moira made the decision to rekindle her relationship with Cain as they decided to work things out and not put an end on their marriage.

Fans were quick to praise Ruby for pointing out the hypocrisy. On a Reddit thread, u/LeonnieC wrote: “THANK GOD FOR RUBY. FINALLY someone called Moira out for her hypocrisy!! I got so mad at her every time she was giving Cain cr*p! He made a big regrettable decision, but boy was he sorry and immediately disgusted with himself. I’m so glad the writers didn’t ruin Cain and Moira as a couple, they’re legit my fav.” Another viewer on a Facebook page declared: “Ruby’s truth bomb on Moira feels delicious tonight.”

On X (formerly known as Twitter), @tamlizann25 added: “Good on Ruby reminding Moira about Nate” as @StephJS wrote: “Yes Ruby!! It’s about time someone reminded Moira about Nate!”

@kellycrumpton94 penned: “I’m so glad Ruby brought up the whole Moira and Nate thing, obviously I don’t excuse Cain cheating on her whilst she was in surgery but the hypocrisy was ridiculous.”
