Emmerdale viewers spotted an unexpected accessory hanging around Dr Liam Cavanagh’s neck during the latest episode of the ITV soap and have branded the blunder “ridiculous”
Emmerdale viewers has hit out after noticing a glaring blunder during a recent instalment of the ITV soap.
During Thursday’s (October 31) episode, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) invited both Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and Ella Forster (Paula Lane) to Halloween in the pub but Liam struggled to hide his feelings for her.
Liam awkwardly confessed his feelings for Chas and she reciprocated and they end up kissing. Liam prepared to break up with Ella but they turned up the Woolpack’s Halloween party together, leaving Chas gutted.
As the love triangle between Liam, Chas and Ella heated up, fans watching at home couldn’t help by spot that actor Jonny McPherson still had his ITV lanyard around his neck while filming scenes as the village doctor.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one eagle-eyed viewer penned: “Obsessed with Dr Liam wearing his ITV-branded lanyard #Emmerdale.” Another added: “great spot”. A third person posted: “Ridiculous”. A fourth social media user said: “How is this stuff not spotted.”
Chas is keen to make a go of things with Liam after the long-running chemistry between them this year. However, she’s adamant that she won’t be “the other woman” and he must resolve things with Ella first.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy earlier this year, Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas, opened up on whether Liam is a good match for her character. She explained: “I think she’s probably going back to what she knows because of the fear of going forward with somebody new. But it’ll be interesting to see if it does go anywhere.
“I think Liam and Chas make an interesting couple. When Paddy was with Chas, a lot of people said that they weren’t a good match. I think Liam’s quite different to Chas but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. They could be a good match.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
