On Friday night, Emmerdale fans were on the edge of their seats as several villagers were involved in a crash
Emmerdale fans seem to think Ruby Milligan’s (played by Beth Cordingly) dad, Anthony (Nicholas Day), is still alive following Friday night’s dramatic showdown.
The episode saw Caleb (Will Ash) angrily confronting his brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) about his fling with Ruby while driving a limo packed full of the male villagers – including Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley).
Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) was driving the other limo, which was full of the female villagers and GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
However, as Caleb got angrier, he began to accelerate and drive faster, much to the horror of the rest of the passengers.
As Mandy pleaded with him to “slow down,” viewers saw Charity gasp as it appeared the two vehicles ended up colliding.
The episode ended with one limo sinking into a frozen lake, while a flash-forward scene shows someone trapped underneath the icy lake.

All viewers can see is a hand frantically banging on the ice, trying to get help and escape, but who is it?
Ever since the dramatic episode aired, fans have been coming up with their own theories about who may die in the crash – and whose hand it is under the ice.
Some fans seem to think the hand belongs to Anthony, Ruby’s dad. In previous episodes, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) thought he had killed Anthony after launching an attack on him for abusing Ruby when she was a child.
It was later revealed that Ruby dealt the fatal blow, and John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) covered it all up by disposing of Anthony’s body.

However, newcomer John hasn’t disclosed to anyone where he buried the body, and now fans are questioning whether he did at all.
“Just a thought but I’m not convinced Anthony is dead, like I say just a thought,” someone wrote on a Facebook fan page.
“There’s a rumour I read from Emmerdale that Anthony has got a twin brother and Ruby is in a bad way when she find out,” another replied.

Another fan theorised: “Might be Anthony that Charity hit, if he wasn’t dead when John buried him? Read his body needs id’ing next week.” (sic)
A fourth fan said: “Could the person’s hand in the ice be Ruby’s father that was dumped by John thinking the body was at the bottom, but the crashed car has disputed the body?”
Emmerdale is available to watch on ITVX.
