Emmerdale fans are convinced that Dylan is set to meet a Dingle legend in rehab and that the pair will return to the village together, as the youngster looks to get clean
Emmerdale fans could be in for a surprise as a beloved Dingle character might return nearly two decades after their first appearance, following an unexpected twist involving Dylan.
Dylan (played by Fred Kettle) was introduced earlier this year as a friend of April Windsor’s (Amelia Flanagan), whom she met during her time living on the streets. Dylan and his companion Becca (Becca Ashton) took April under their wing, particularly after discovering she was pregnant.
Sadly, Becca was fatally stabbed while pursuing a thief who had stolen their money. In a heartbreaking sequence of events, the house where Dylan and April were staying was raided by the police, leading to Dylan’s arrest and April’s narrow escape. Tragically, April later gave birth to a stillborn baby in a public toilet.
April has since returned to the Dales, much to her father Marlon’s relief. Last week, she invited Dylan to the village and convinced Marlon to let him stay, reports Leicestershire Live. However, Dylan is battling his own demons, struggling with an addiction to the drug spice.

This week saw Dylan attempting to get clean, with April vowing to support him. But Marlon, in a deceitful move, planted drugs on Dylan, making it appear as though he had stolen ketamine from the local vets.
Upon learning that Dylan had overdosed and was hospitalised, a guilt-ridden Marlon confessed his actions to Dylan at the hospital. He then offered to fund Dylan’s rehab treatment, but asked him not to reveal his deeds to April.

Emmerdale enthusiasts are holding their breath as they speculate the potential Dales reunion, with Dylan currently navigating the challenges of rehab in a bid for sobriety. The fervour among fans is palpable, with many rooting for his return post-recovery and hinting at an even bigger comeback.
One viewer shared their support on an Emmerdale Facebook fan forum, saying “I really like Dylan! Hopefully he returns once he’s better,” But it’s in the depths of the comments section where theories thrive, and fans are buzzing about the prospect of Dylan crossing paths with none other than former Dales dweller Eli Dingle, played by actor Joseph Gilgun.

Imaginations run wild with one fan posting, “What if whilst Dylan is in the rehab facility, he bumps into Eli Dingle…” Another eagerly adds, “I wonder if as Dylan enters the rehab he will find Eli there? I’ve read that he’s his secret son.” A third chimes in, endorsing the idea: “Now that would be something! Dylan and Eli can both head back to the village together then!”.
Prior to leaving us hanging in 2010 after a robbery scandal, Joseph Gilgun’s portrayal of Eli Dingle – Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) younger sibling – forged a deep connection with Emmerdale viewers, placing him amongst the ranks of cherished characters on the show.
Eli’s chequered past is peppered with dramatic arcs, such as his romantic entanglements with cousin Debbie (Charley Webb) and his involvement in Alice’s (Ursula Holden-Gill) suicide, ensuring that any possible return would stir up excitement amidst the Dales drama.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
