Emmerdale fans fear a beloved village icon is about to get killed off in a tragic twist after they spotted a giveaway ‘clue’ on the soap
Emmerdale has appeared to confirm a Dales legend is getting killed off in a heartbreaking twist.
Beloved character Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) has been a staple on the soap since 1996. As the son of Albert Dingle (Bobby Knutt), the Woolpack chef has become a fan favourite.
Marlon has also played a part in several big storylines too over the years – from a shock prison stint to suffering a stroke, his time in the village has not been short of drama.
Especially at the moment, as on Christmas Day, Marlon’s daughter April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) went missing. The teenager was last seen getting in a strange car driven by a mysterious individual.
April’s disappearance came following a difficult few weeks in the Dales when she found out the truth about her mum Donna’s (Verity Rushworth) death in 2014. April then turned to booze and drugs and clashed with her dad Marlon (Mark Charnock) – before going missing.
Since then, Marlon has been left reeling, determined to try and find out where April is, along with the rest of the village.
This week though, CCTV video showing a possible sighting of April running across a street in Leeds was revealed to her family and Marlon headed to Leeds to hand out leaflets about April. During Wednesday’s episode (January 15), Marlon continued to look for April, accompanied by Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).
However, fans couldn’t help but notice how much Marlon was coughing. Even partner Rhona Goskirk (Zoë Henry) shared her concern. She told him: “Marlon, you’re no use to anyone if you’re poorly, you have to take care of yourself.”
Now, fans are certain this is foreshadowing Marlon’s tragic death. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “Did anyone else notice Marlon coughing?” Others rushed to the comments section: “Yes it’s worrying!” A third penned: “Foreshadowing his death I think.”
Another person mused: “You could be onto something but I really hope not!” A fifth penned: “All the stress from April could trigger a heart attack or something?”While on X, someone else wrote: “The shouting has given Marlon a bad cough now, pneumonia storyline coming soon for Marlon.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
