EastEnders fear a shock exit is on the cards for legend Stacey Slater after actress Lacey Turner revealed some huge news away from the soap

EastEnders fans have ‘worked out’ how Stacey Slater is leaving the soap following the news of actress Lacey Turner’s pregnancy.

Actress Lacey shot to fame playing Stacey on the BBC One soap – making her debut in 2004. And it’s fair to say she has gone on to become one of the soap’s most-loved stars.

Over the years, Lacey’s had some big storylines too playing Stacey. From her bipolar battle to time behind bars, Stacey’s time in Walford has not been short of drama.

What’s more, it’s fair to say Stacey has had her fair share of romances too throughout her stint. She famously married the beloved Bradley Branning (Charlie Clements) back in 2007 and who could forget her iconic affair storyline with his dad Max Branning (Jake Wood).

This year, she found herself involved in the epic The Six storyline, which saw her and several other Walford ladies cover up the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) at Christmas. However, away from the soap, this week, actress Lacey Turner shared some big news with fans. Taking to social media, Lacey revealed that she is pregnant.

The soap star uploaded a sweet snap of her posing with husband Matt and their two children Dusty, five, and three-year-old Trilby, while holding onto a pregnancy scan. Doting mum Lacey captioned the post: “Aren’t we lucky….. @thekayoskids” alongside heart emojis.

But now, following the news of Lacey’s pregnancy, fans are sharing their thoughts on how Stacey will leave the soap, for the actor’s maternity leave. Rushing over to X, angry viewers have claimed that Stacey will likely get sent to prison in a huge twist. One person said: “Looks like ar Stace is heading to prison….again.”

A second chimed in and added: “I am so happy for Lacey but please NO prison sentence for my girl.” A third wrote: “PUHLEASE can Stacey just go off and look after Lynne for a few months or something!!! I can’t cope with another Stacey in prison storyline!”

Echoing their thoughts, someone else mused: “Noooo this actually scares me a bit, what if she takes the fall for The Six.” A fifth person also said: “Just cart Stacey and the kids off to Lynns for a temporary new life away from the square for Lacey’s maternity exit I beg you. I can’t deal with another bloody prison stint or have her abandon her kids.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
