Ever since she took a trip back to the 1990s and hooked up with her ex-husband Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp), EastEnders’ Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) has been frantically trying to cover her tracks.

But her secret is now in the worst possible hands after her rival Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) learned the truth on Wednesday.

Since her arrival in Walford at the end of last year, Nicola has locked horns several times with Sharon, who is currently dating her ex-husband Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian).

But Nicola’s had bigger things to worry about this week, after a medical emergency involving her son Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) led to Zack Hudson (James Farrar) discovering he’s Barney’s biological father. 

While desperate to keep this news a secret from Barney and Teddy, Nicola thought she would have to surrender on Wednesday when Zack threatened her. 

But as luck would have it, Nicola was later given the upper hand when Barney woke in his hospital bed with a bombshell admission. He revealed to his mum that he’d previously overheard Sharon and Zack discussing how she’d cheated on Teddy with Grant.

Realising Zack had been doing Sharon’s dirty work to keep Barney quiet before he was rushed to hospital, Nicola knew she now had what she needed to stop Zack revealing her own secret. 

The stage is now set for a huge showdown on Thursday, where Nicola neutralises the threat – or so she thinks…

As Nicola and Sharon go head-to-head once more, who will come out on top?
