EastEnders fans are speculating they know where Cindy Beale has vanished to amid her mystery exit and her plan for revenge on ex Ian Beale on the BBC soap

There could be a return looming on EastEnders if a new revenge theory is anything to go by.

Cindy Beale’s decision to flee Walford and stay with a past character left viewers all saying the same thing, after her vow to seek revenge on ex Ian Beale. Now, there’s suspicion Cindy is lying about her whereabouts, and that she could be about to team up with a past character to bring Ian down.

Weeks on from Cindy being attacked and left for dead, she found out in a recent episode that her mother-in-law Kathy Beale was to blame. With Ian covering for his mum things took a turn when Cindy accused Ian of being to blame for her attack, and she shot him “by accident”.

If that wasn’t enough she shoved him into the road and nearly got him run over, leading to driver Reiss Colwell crashing his car into The Queen Vic. The crash caused an explosion that killed Reiss and Martin Fowler after the building began to collapse.

Ian is keen for Cindy to face justice making it clear he blamed her for what happened. Viewers also say Cindy has blood on her hands after Martin’s tragic death, while Kathy saved Cindy when she herself was injured in the explosion.

Cindy was keen to expose Kathy and have her face justice, while Ian offered her money to stay silent. He used the fact that she had a part to play in the fire and threatened to tell everyone what she did if she didn’t keep quiet.

In a recent episode Ian agreed to give Cindy the money on the condition she left Walford. Cindy did flee and claimed to her family that she didn’t feel safe living in the Square with someone who tried to kill her.

But before she left she told fling Junior Knight she would get her revenge. As Junior exclaimed: “I don’t understand why you’re letting Ian get away with this,” Cindy replied: “Oh, no one’s getting away with anything, but I’m just happy to let them think that they have. For now.”

Viewers are now believing she lied about where she was heading and she could be seeking help from someone who has been betrayed by Ian in the past. Cindy’s sister Gina, who has the same name as her daughter, was let down by Ian years ago when he chose Mel Owen over her.

Not only that but Ian and Gina had somewhat of a showdown when he accused her of stalking him and pretending to be Cindy, while she was still believed to be dead. Gina threatened Ian with a shotgun before insisting she wasn’t the one behind the harassment.

Gina did head back to the show in 2014 after Ian called her to come and collect Cindy Jr, wanting Cindy to stay with her. It’s not known what Gina is up to now, but will Cindy and her sister unite to take down Ian?

One fan believed so, sharing online: “In 1999, Gina was in love with Ian, but he chose Mel. Does she hold a grudge against him, would she help Cindy Sr. to hurt Ian and will she actually return either way?” Another fan said: “Imagine they team up and that’s where Cindy has gone.”
